SUBMITTING A FULL LENGTH SHOW TO THE FESTIVAL
We require those interested to submit a resume, book, and CD demo. We require that the material has not been previously fully produced in Southern California.
The Festival does not fund most productions. If we are enthusiastic about a submission, we generally seek out producers/venues who will underwrite them. The venues cover a vast range, from major production theaters like the Old Globe, OCPAC, South Coast Rep, The Geffen Playhouse and Pasadena Playhouse, all of which have been previous Festival participants, to smaller theaters including colleges, high schools and cultural centers.
If we have attempted to find production funds for your musical, but it is not produced during the upcoming Festival year, the submission is kept in consideration by us until either your new musical is hopefully produced or if you decide to withdraw the project.
The Festival's commitment is to fully market and promote those new musicals that are scheduled during the Festival time. Since the beginning of FNAM, over five years ago, we have marketed and promoted close to 100 new musical productions all throughout Southern California.
New Musicals may be submitted year round. Currently, we are looking at shows for 2014.
Before we can accept them we ask you to send an Email and provide us with:
- A brief resume of your activities in theater, past and present.
- A brief description of the show you want to submit and who is involved.
Thanks for your interest,
THE FESTIVAL CAST
